David Frankel

David Frankel is a founder and Managing Partner of the Founder Collective, a seed-stage venture capital fund headquartered in New York City and Cambridge that accounts among its partners Eric Paley (founder of Brontes Technologies) and Chris Dixon (founder of Hunch and SiteAdvisor, which was sold to McAfee).

Mr. Frankel was co-founder of Internet Solutions (IS), the largest ISP and private data carrier in Africa. Frankel was CEO and Joint Managing Director of IS and has been a Director of Dimension Data plc since selling IS to his group. Frankel was the founder and Chairman of HealthBridge. He is the co-founder of Altirah Capital and is a General Partner of Ovation Capital Partners, an early stage VC group based in New York.

In 2000, Mr. Frankel was voted the South African Technology Achiever of the Century, by the Financial Mail. The World Economic Forum later selected him for the GLT (Global Leader of Tomorrow) program. Frankel is an Electrical Engineer (Wits) and post selection for the Fulbright Scholarship Program earned an MBA, with distinction, from Harvard Business School. He is the Founder of ISPA (the South African Internet Service Providers Association) and currently serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations including Foundation 2000, the King David Schools Foundation and Endeavor South Africa.
